DeepStack Showdown Event #3 Final Table Wrap Up

Another successful DeepStack Showdown tournament is in the books. This time it was our Event #3 $340 NLH DoubleStack $100K GTD that attracted 392 players who combined for a prize pool of $109,760. Of those 392 entrants, 50 made Day 2.

Our final table was a charming blend of good-natured gentlemen from near and far, along with a pro or two. After an early elimination, play settled down and we were in for a somewhat lengthy final table.

Throughout the tournament, the river played a big role in making—and, of course, breaking—hands. In fact, Ezequiel Torres doubled up three times—consecutively, mind you—on the river, much to the chagrin of his opponents.

When we were three-handed, chip stacks were pretty close, so the three remaining gentlemen agreed on a deal with a save. Essentially, they would all receive $14,750; however, the winner would take the remaining money ($5,686) and the trophy.

As play continued, the chip lead shifted around. At one point, when we were heads up, Victor Dermendjian was pretty short-stacked, so his win was that much more impressive.

Nearly two hours later, the tournament ended with Victor Dermendjian taking the victory, $20,436, and our stunning and highly coveted trophy. In fact, this is Dermendjian’s biggest live cash. This was also Michael Addison’s biggest live cash. Great job, guys!

Congratulations again to Victor Dermendjian, DeepStack Showdown Event #3 champion.
