DSE IV Event #39 Final Table Wrap Up

Well, another highly successful DeepStack Extravaganza series tournament is in the books. This time, our DSE IV Event #39 $600 EpicStack $200K GTD attracted 435 players who vied for a guarantee-exceeding prize pool of $219,675. Of these players, 75 survived to come back for Day 2, and 45 of them found themselves in the money.

We reached the final table rather quickly considering the number of people who returned for Day 2. Our final table was the typical mix of locals, visitors, regulars, and irregulars; all of whom had huge personalities. It took a bit for the guys to get used to each other, gauging and challenging their opponents, and trying various combinations of raising, re-raising, and shoving until they hit their stride.

It took quite a while to lose our first player, and even longer to lose our second; however, once we overcame that hurdle, the rest of the final table action was fast and furious. Our champ, Eyal Al Revah came into the final table with the chip lead and maintained it for some time until David Kozma gave him a run for his money with several consecutive impressive hands and pots. Ultimately, however, Al Revah managed to regain the lead just in time for the four-way deal that crowned him the winner.

There really wasn’t any one player who didn’t get in on the frantic action as cards and chips were flying around like crazy. Dustin Goff was rather aggressive early on, but suffered some bad beats, and he never lost his sense of humor. David Kozma and Eyal Al Revah had some serious back-and-forth action, and Antonello Perrini joined the frantic pace as well. David Oppenheim’s chip stack waned a bit; however, toward the end he rallied to take second place.

All in all, it was an enjoyably active and frenetic contest.

Congratulations again to Eyal Al Revah, his $35,191 first prize, and his stunning trophy. Al Revah is no stranger to The Venetian Poker Room, and we will, undoubtedly, see him again in the near future.
