Sam Soverel caught a double through Paul Volpe and is once again the High Roller chip leader.

Paul Volpe was on the uptick following his double up and subsequent elimination of Chris Hunichen but that is now over. Volpe shipped a double to Sam Soverel in a tough spot that gave Soverel back the chip lead and leaves Volpe with less than five big blinds.

Soverel opened on the button for a standard raise and Volpe called in the big blind. Volpe checked the 77♣6♣ flop and Soverel continued for a similar amount. Volpe called and the 5♠ fell on the turn. Volpe check-called for 275,000 more after inquiring about Soverel’s remaining stack and the 2 hit the river. Volpe checked and insta-called Soverel’s all-in shove of 980,000.

Volpe showed 7♠4 for flopped trips but Soverel’s 9♣8♠ turned straight left Volpe grimacing as he counted out chips to send over. Soverel is back in the lead with 2,880,000 while Volpe is left with just four big blinds.
