Kristy Arnett’s stack has hit a few different spots on the chip spectrum at the Event 63 final table and she is back in the chip lead after eliminating Feng Wen Chen.

Vlad Tkachuk opened to 220,000 under the gun and Arnett three-bet to about 525,000 in the cutoff. Chen shoved for 730,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Tkachuk got out of the way. Arnett called with A♦A♠ and Chen was severely unlucky as he showed K♥K♠. The board ran dry for Chen and Arnett collected the pot.

She is playing 3,000,000 and is once again, in control of the final table.

Short-stacked to start the final table, Vlad Tkachuk is now the chip leader with nine players still in. 

In a final table where stacks are relatively small compared to the blinds, things can change on a dime and that is what has happened with Vlad Tkachuk. His stack was under 500,000 for the better part of the final table but is now the chip leader after taking down a three-street pot against Kristy Arnett.

Arnett opened to 165,000 in early position and Tkachuk called out of the small blind. Tkachuk checked the J♦6♦4♠ flop and Arnett bet 200,000. Tkachuk called and both players checked the 3♠ turn. Tkachuk bet 320,000 on the Q♥ river and Arnett called. Tkachuk showed A♦Q♠ for a rivered pair and Arnett mucked, giving the sizable pot to Tkachuk.

Tkachuk is playing 2,400,000 with Arnett (2,200,000) now behind him but as we have seen so far, that spot may not be permanent for Tkachuk.

Not long ago, Vlad Tkachuk was down to roughly five big blinds but after doubling up through Kristy Arnett and getting a few shoves through, Tkachuk is back above the average stack.

Arnett opened in early position and Tkachuk shoved in the small blind for 300,000. Arnett called with 9♠6♠ and Tkachuk’s K♦Q♦ held to double.

A few hands later, Arnett opened under the gun and Weiyi Mo called in the hijack. Tkachuk shoved for 750,000 and Arnett along with Mo both released. At the start of the new level, Daniel Bland opened and two seats over, Tkachuk jammed and got that shove through.

Additionally, Feng Wen Chen doubled with K♣K♥ against the A♣10♦ of Matt Schultz for 420,000, making Schultz and Kevin Nguyen the two short stacks. Both players are under 850,000. Mo is just above them with 900,000.

Christopher Franco’s chip decline at the final table has coincided with the rise of Kristy Arnett’s. On Franco’s direct left, Arnett has taken a few pots from her neighbor but turned her sights on Feng Wen Chen in a recent hand.

Picking up the action on a flop of Q♣5♣4♦, Arnett bet what looked like 100,000 from the small blind and Chen called in the big blind. Arnett bet 125,000 on the 5♦ turn and Chen raised to 325,000. Arnett thought for a moment and dropped in a call.

Both players checked the 10♦ river and Arnett rolled over 8♦6♦ for a flush. Chen flicked his hand in and is down to 750,000. Arnett is the chip leader with about 3,300,000 with Karo Galstyan the only other player over 2,000,000. Franco is third with 1,950,000. Updated counts are below.

Spencer Champlin

Spencer Champlin started the final table fourth in chips but as a result of losing a few small pots, was suddenly down to a shoving stack. Champlin fell to Karo Galstyan, who is now over 2,000,000.

Galstyan opened in the hijack to 140,000 and Champlin shoved for 550,000 on the button. The blinds released and Galstyan called with A♠K♠. Champlin’s A♦Q♦ was dominated and the 10♥6♦3♥8♠9♥ board sealed his elimination.

Galstyan is playing 2,075,000 and is currently second behind Kristy Arnett (2,600,000) for the chip lead.

Arnett opened to 115,000 under the gun and Franco defended his big blind. Franco check-called for 125,000 on the K♦Q♥J♠ flop and then the two players checked down the J♣ turn and K♠ river. Franco showed Q♦3♦ but that was no good against Arnett’s A♦A♣.

Arnett has chipped up to 1,800,000 since the final table started and Franco’s 2,200,000 leads but the whole table is about to get collectively shorter as the blinds go up.

Franco opened to 100,000 in the hijack and Mo shoved for 425,000 from the big blind. Franco contemplated and then called with K♣9♦. Mo was ahead with A♦J♠ and held through the 10♦8♦3♦10♥J♥ board.
