The turn brought the 9♣ and once again Vornicu and Mancini checked. Grapenthien fired another bet. Vornicu snap-called. Mancini thought for a minute before releasing his hand.

The 7♣ completed the board and Vornicu checked. Grapenthien placed out one last bet. Vornicu called.

Grapenthien then tabled A♠ 2♥ 9♥ K♥, and took down the pot with a full house, after Vornicu mucked his hand.

DeepStack Championship Event #106 Final Table Wrap Up

Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #106 $600 NLH DoubleStack $200K GTD attracted 837 players who created a prize pool of $431,055; doubling the guarantee of $200,000. Of those, 90 made the money, each earning themselves $1,121.

The single day event started at noon, and after 15 hours of play, saw the field shrink from 837 to a final table of nine. An additional two and a half hours was needed before a champion was crowned.

Gary Herstein eliminated the first two players from the final table, Stanislav Barshak (9th) and David Stamm (8th), leaving seven players.

David Margi then took care of the next two players, Cantidio Villar (7th) and Victor Kait (6th), leaving five.

Kevin Garosshen would earn the last two knockouts, Yo Hwan Lim (5th) and Andrea Sorrentino (4th), ultimately leaving three players to battle it out.

Garosshen, Margi and Herstein played around thirty minutes three-handed before all agreeing to a chop. Herstein ended up finishing in 3rd, Margi in second, and Garosshen claimed the win.

Kevin Garosshen Wins DeepStack Championship Event #106 and $74,000

Congratulations to Kevin Garosshen from Las Vegas, NV who took down our DeepStack Championship Event #106 $600 NLH DoubleStack $200K GTD winning $74,000.

Garosshen started the final table as the chip leader. He only relinquished the lead once, but regained it back, after eliminating Yo Hwan Lim in 5th place followed by Andrea Sorrentino in 4th place.

Once three-handed, Garosshen agreed to a chop, which saw him awarded the victory in the event as well as collecting $74,000 for his efforts.

This is Garosshen’s 9th cash of the DeepStack series. It bested his previous best finish, were he narrowly missed winning Event #13 $400 NLH MonsterStack, coming 2nd for $9,964.

David Margi Finishes in 2nd Place ($50,000)

Congratulations to David Margi from Israel who finished 2nd in our DeepStack Championship Event #106 $600 NLH DoubleStack $200K GTD winning $50,000.

Margi started the final table as the second shortest stack. He was able to eliminate Cantidio Villar in 7th place, followed by Victor Kait in 6th place, to rocket up the chip counts.

Once three-handed, Margi agreed to a chop, that saw him finish in second place as well as collecting $50,000 for his efforts.

Gary Herstein Finishes in 3rd Place ($49,881)

Congratulations to Gary Herstein from Chicago, IL who finished 3rd in our DeepStack Championship Event #106 $600 NLH DoubleStack $200K GTD winning $49,881.

Herstein came into the final table as one of the chip leaders, and added to his stack, after eliminating Stanislav Barshak in ninth and David Stamm in 8th place.

Once three-handed, Herstein agreed to a deal, which saw his finish in third place as well as collecting $49,881 for his efforts.

Andrea Sorrentino Eliminated in 4th Place ($28,450)
